My son wants to learn chess. We are not the Chess-Champion-family, in fact, I just know all the moves. But we do own a chess set. We bought it 2 years ago in the most beautiful little town in Greece, Delphi. The chest pieces are pottery Greek gods. It’s more like a Traveling Keepsake than a “Lets-play-a-game” Chess set. (I’ve already decapitated one of the Greek Soldiers when cleaning the set – See first photo).
There are cheap chess sets, which are perfect for a beginner. But to make a set for a chess enthusiast, will be one of the best gifts you can give him/her. It’s a perfect gift for a dad/grandfather/son for Father’s Day, Christmas or his birthday.
Hope these sets will inspire you!
